BBQ Chicken Sloppy Joes – Juicy & Messy Goodness

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional πŸ”₯)
  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

  1. Cook Onion & Garlic
    Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
    Add chopped onion β†’ cook until soft (2–3 mins).
    Add garlic β†’ cook for 30 seconds.
  2. Add Chicken
    Add shredded chicken β†’ mix well with onions.
  3. Make BBQ Sauce Mix
    Add BBQ sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
    Stir everything together.
  4. Simmer
    Cook for 5–7 minutes on low heat until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken nicely.
  5. Toast Buns
    Spread butter on buns and toast on a pan until golden.
  6. Assemble
    Add BBQ chicken mixture onto buns.
    Top with cheese, coleslaw, or pickles if you like.
